EQHQ was founded by David Smith , Director of HR4SMEs and Susan Judd, Managing Director of HR Culture. Through their passion to develop enjoyable and productive workplaces, David and Susan decided to launch EQHQ to specialise in developing emotionally intelligent leaders. People who have been through our programs feel better at work, facilitate more productive work environments and are more effective at leading and engaging others.

David Smith is the director and founder of EQHQ and HR4SMEs. In 2017 he published "The Emotionally Intelligent Leader: The Missing Ingredient for Leadership Success", which has sold over 1000 copies worldwide.
David is a Master Trainer of Genos Emotional Intelligence Programs and one of a few facilitators accredited to deliver the Genos IGNITE Emotional Intelligence Enhancement Program across Australia. David also delivers the Genos Certification Program in Victoria and South Australia for aspiring emotional intelligence practitioners.
David has helped over 650 leaders improve their leadership effectiveness utilising the skills of emotional intelligence through one on one executive coaching and facilitation of workshops. He has also been the keynote speaker at conferences in Sydney, Singapore and Queenstown, and regularly presents at Swinburne University, introducing the concept of emotional intelligence to CEOs, General Managers and consultants. In addition, David is an accredited trainer in Everything DiSC Work of Leaders, Management, Workplace, Sales and the recently released Productive Conflict profile.
With over 25 years leadership and management experience, David has always had responsibility and passion for developing leaders. David has also completed an MBA majoring in HR and Association Management having already completed a Business Degree majoring in Marketing and Corporate Strategy and a Diploma in Performance Coaching. David is a Certified Professional of the Australian Human Resources Institute (CAHRI). He has delivered emotional intelligence courses in a broad range of sectors including finance, education, health and government departments.

SUSAN JUDD

Susan Judd is the joint founder of EQHQ and the Managing Director of HR Culture. Susan started HR Culture in 2009 to assist small and medium business owners and managers by providing them with expert Human Resource support across all areas of employment.
Susan has a passion to build happy and engaged workplaces where people are motivated and inspired to do and be their best. To achieve this vision, Susan became a Certified Practitioner of Genos in 2012 enabling her to deploy emotional intelligence in workplaces throughout Australia.
More recently Susan became accredited to deliver the Genos IGNITE Emotional Intelligence Enhancement Program designed to help leaders improve their impact, influence and resilience. She also delivers executive coaching to individuals wishing to increase their leadership effectiveness by developing their emotional intelligence capabilities.
Susan holds more than 20 years of experience in leading and managing people in a diverse range of organisations spanning financial services, manufacturing and distribution, retail and business to business sales.
